My husband and I celebrated our ninth anniversary recently at a new Dallas hot spot, the Don’t Tell Supper Club. The 10,000 square foot complex housing the downtown supper club and Vegas-style showroom are located at 2026 Commerce Street.
While the downstairs venue bustled with multiple bars and throngs of well-dressed party-goers, we opted for the quieter upstairs area. From our booth, we could observe the events unfolding below but still enjoy a romantic dinner while talking with each other.
Looking over the menu, we discovered Don’t Tell Supper Club’s surprising, not-so-secret ingredient: Celebrity Chef Tre Wilcox served as a consultant on the project and created the dinner menu. That’s when we knew it was going to be an anniversary dinner to remember.
While waiting for our watermelon salad, we had a chance to visit briefly with an owner, Derek Braun. After opening several nightlife concepts around the country, Braun said he saw downtown Dallas as an ‘underserved’ market.
For all of its amazing restaurants and nightclubs, Dallas has yet to realize the supper club concept as witnessed in other cities around the country, said Braun.
With Don’t Tell Supper Club, we’re out to prove that Dallas can support such a concept, and that with the right mix of top-notch food and eclectic entertainment, patrons can enjoy a full night out, from dinner to after-dinner, in one unique space.
